MatchDoom

MatchDoom is a community-powered platform where people share their worst dating stories anonymously. No names, no shame — just raw, hilarious, and sometimes heartbreaking tales of romantic disaster turned into entertainment.

💔The idea

Everyone has at least one dating disaster story. MatchDoom gives those stories a stage — anonymous, judgment-free, and genuinely funny. The idea was simple: what if bad dates became content? Not polished influencer content, but real, messy, human stories that make strangers on the internet laugh out loud. The platform strips away everything that makes sharing vulnerable — no profiles, no real names, no photo requirements. Just your story, an emoji that captures the vibe, and the collective reaction of thousands of people who've been there too.

😂How it works

You sign up (or don't — browsing is free), hit 'Share Your Doom,' and type out your dating disaster. Pick an emoji that captures the energy, and your story goes live. Other users react with laughs, skull emojis, or broken hearts. The best stories rise to the top. Trending Dooms surface on the homepage with reaction counts and category badges — 'Most Viral,' 'Most Heartbreaking,' 'Funniest.' There's something addictive about scrolling through other people's catastrophic dates at 2am. It's like a support group, but funnier.

🎨Tech & design

The visual identity leans into the chaos — hot pink gradients, playful emoji reactions, and a feed-style layout that keeps you scrolling. The UI is intentionally warm and approachable despite the dark humor of the content. Under the hood, the app handles anonymous submissions, real-time reaction counting, and a trending algorithm that balances recency with engagement. Built with modern web tools and AI-assisted development, the entire platform went from concept to live product in under a week.
